Gingerbread On The LOOSE!

Last Sunday, Ms. Riley was baking a whole bunch of cookies with her friend Amelia. They were baking their first batch of gingerbread when Ms. Riley opened the oven door too early! We've been reading lots of different gingerbread stories, so we knew what would happen next...

The gingerbread came to LIFE! They hopped up off the pan, out the oven door, and ran around the house as Ms. Riley tried to catch them.

Unfortunately they were too fast for Ms. Riley--they slipped out the front door and took off running down the driveway (Luckily Amelia was able to snap a few pics before they disappeared!) Ultimately they ended up in our classroom, and they are going to be keeping us company over the next few school days before our holiday break!

They took over our morning message and our morning work, and now it is our job to find them in their different hiding spots each day before our morning meeting. Here are a few of the silly things we caught them doing this week in 2R:

We can't wait to see what they'll do next week!

Gingerbread, Gingerbread, Where Have You Been?!

Here are a few snapshots of our gingerbread men's hiding spots this week! We were wondering what they were up to on our Snow Day...Bob says he swore he saw one run across the classroom when he came in that afternoon!

The Twelve School Days Before Holiday Break

Over the weekend, Ms. Riley was baking a batch of gingerbread cookies for the holidays. They had baked to perfection when suddenly, four of the cookies hopped off of the baking sheet and took off running! They are now hiding all around our classroom and will be hiding in different spots every day leading up to our Holiday Break. It is our job to find them each morning in their hiding spots and make sure they aren't causing too much trouble!

These were their hiding spots today. Can you spot the gingerbread men?

We hope they don't have too much fun tonight!
