Gingerbread Antics

Every day, the gingerbread cookies have been hiding in different places around our classroom! Here are a few more of their hiding spots from this week:

They've even started to take over our morning messages!

One of the cookies took out an iPad and took some selfies!!

We can't wait to see what else they have in store for us in the days ahead!

Gingerbread Chaos!

On Monday Night, Ms. Riley was baking gingerbread cookies for the holiday with her friend Cynthia. When Ms. Riley opened the oven door a bit too early to check on them, 4 of the cookies hopped right off of the cookie sheet, jumped out of the oven, and headed for the door!

Ms. Riley thought they were gone for good, but they hitched a ride to school in her car and now they are running around our classroom! They will be hiding in different spots all around our classroom until it is time for our holiday break. This is where they were hiding today--who knows what sort of mischief they'll be up do over the next few weeks!

Every morning, we will look for the gingerbread cookies in their new hiding spots. But we are only looking with our eyes, we don't want them to lose any of their magic!

The Great Gingerbread Search!

Ms. Riley forgot to close the door to our classroom over the weekend, so our gingerbread men were running wild all over SMS! They left us a set of clues to follow during our search, so we set out in two teams to find them all:

We raced around the school and found all four gingerbread men. Here are some pictures of Ms. Riley's team in action!!

On Mrs. Craig's Phone...we think he was trying to call our classroom in the afternoon!

Dashing through the halls

On the Birthday Board!

Hanging out with first grade's citizens of the world!
Keeping an eye out in the office!

On Tuesday, the gingerbread men returned to their places on the cookie sheet...all except one, who met a quite unfortunate fate when Bob found him scurrying across the halls. He offered to give him a ride across the mopped floor, but before the gingerbread man could even realize what was going on...CRUNCH! Bob enjoyed a tasty afternoon  snack. He will be missed!

Gingerbread Men Antics

Our Gingerbread Men were all over our classroom this week! Here are a few snapshots of their antics:

We also made our own giant gingerbread cookie as a class. Each of us made two decorations or a symmetrical decoration to add to our cookie to show their symmetry. The result was interesting to say the least!

Hey...who is that on our cookie's shoulder?!
