Not only do we write like Kevin Henkes, but we illustrate like him, too!

Over the last few days. we've been finishing up our Kevin Henkes mentor stories. We learned that Kevin Henkes illustrates his pictures by sketching them first and then painting them with watercolors to bring them to life, so we created covers for our stories using the same techniques!

These are our completed book covers! We decided to change our last names to Henkes to honor our mentor author and the inspiration he provided us with to create our own mouse stories :)
