On Wednesday, it was time to celebrate our Poetry Writing Unit with a Shelebration! We invited our Family and Friends to join us as we wrote our own poems "Where The Sidewalk Ends", read poems aloud by both The Giraffes and Shel Silverstein, and then we shared our 4th Annual Riley Book of Giraffe Poetry!
After writing our poems on the sidewalk, we read and recited poems for everyone by the garden. The giraffes got to choose whether they read a poem that they wrote themselves or to read a poem by one of our favorite poets Shel Silverstein
Many of the giraffes dressed up or brought props to go with their poems!
We've got our eye on you!
After reciting our poems, we got to enjoy looking at our poetry books with our friends and family before bringing them home. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us!
