Let It Snow!

Despite the fact that the calendar still says "fall", snow season is officially upon us! We had so much fun playing in Tuesday's snow, we didn't want to come inside!

These giraffes worked together with Mrs. Mitchell to make a snowman!

We made some tiny snowballs and some MASSIVE ones, Mrs. Mitchell had to help us roll this one over to make an even bigger snowman!

We talked as a class about what kind of gear we need to play in the snow:

-Jacket
-Hat/Hood
-Gloves/Mittens
-Boots
-Snow pants

Now that the winter weather is here, all giraffes should come to school every day with at least a hat, a pair of gloves/mittens, and a jacket. We will go outside as long as the wind chill does not go below 15 degrees. If students also bring a pair of snow pants and boots, they can play in the snow at recess. If they do not, they have to stay on the blacktop so they remain warm and dry. At this time of year, it's also great for everyone to have a pair of shoes to leave at school so they always have a warm, dry pair of shoes to wear around the classroom while their boots/sneakers they wore outside have a chance to dry!
