March Reminders

Hello, Giraffe Families!

Can you believe it is already March?! Here are a few important dates and reminders for the

weeks ahead:

Friday, March 8: Stratham School Board Annual School District Meeting - 7:00pm at SMS. The STA will be babysitting and hosting a movie night that evening in the Library for kids so parents can be in attendance! Drop-off for movie night begins at 6:30 pm

Tuesday, March 12: CMS Expansion and Renewal Project Vote

Friday, March 15: Scholastic Reading Club orders will be submitted for our classroom. Click here to shop for books, our class code is NB42C

Tuesday, March 12: Staff Workshop Day (Inservice) - no school for students

Wednesday, March 13: School Board Meeting 6:30pm

Thursday, March 21: 5th grade vs. SMS Staff basketball game 6:30pm. All families are invited to attend!

Thursday and Friday, April 4 & 5: SMS Variety Show 

Thursdays, April 4 & 11: Early release days - Spring Conferences, (click here to sign up!)

Wednesday, April 10: School Board Meeting 6:30pm

Friday, April 12: SMS PTO Party with a Purpose 

Lastly, each of the giraffes will be coming home with a book bag every Tuesday. It is their "homework" to make sure they read this book at least two times to someone they love before returning their book and bag to school on Thursday. These are books that the giraffes have practiced reading independently in class, they are excited to share their reading skills with you!

Spring Parent-Teacher Conference Sign-Ups

Hello, Giraffe Families! 

I know it's hard to believe with all that snow flying around outside, but it is almost time for our Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences! Conferences will be held on April 4th and April 11th (both are early release days) Please sign up for one 15-minute conference on either day or for one of the available time slots in between on Sign Up Genius. If the available time slots do not work for your schedule, please let me know and I would be happy to find a time that does. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your child's progress!

Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences

Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences are right around the corner! Conferences will be held on November 1st and November 8th (both are early release days) and I will also make a few dates/times available in-between. You can sign up for a 15-minute conference on Sign Up Genius (click here to access the sign-up). If the available time slots do not work for your schedule, please let me know and I would be happy to find a time that does. I look forward to sharing your child's progress you and creating some goals for our year ahead! 

Sign Ups Are Live!

Hello, Giraffe Families

All of you will be receiving emails from Sign Up Genius regarding Fall Conferences (which will take place on and between October 26th and November 2nd) and Mystery Reader (every Thursday at 12:30). 

For Conferences:
Please sign up for one 15 minute conference time that works for you. Oct. 26th and November 2nd are both early release days, and there are also times before and after school between those dates listed. If you cannot find a time that works for you, please email me and we will find a time that does.

For Mystery Reader:
This is by no means mandatory, but we would love to have you in to read to us! I ask that initially, you only sign up for 1 time per family, and after everyone has a chance to find a time that works for them, you may sign up for additional dates. When you are a mystery reader, you will get a reminder 2 days before your set date. Please email me 3 clues about yourself so students have a chance to guess who it is. When you arrive, sign in at the office and bring 1-3 books to share with us! Again, if you cannot find a time that works for you, please let me know and we will find another time for you to come in.

Parents interested in volunteering in the classroom: I am going to be sending out a google form so I can find out when/how frequently you are available and we will go from there. I am going to try to get that out in the next few days! 

New to Sign Up Genius?

• Find an available time slot and check the box for that time, which can be found in the column on the right
• Click on the Submit and Sign Up button on the bottom of the screen
• Fill in your first and last name, e-mail, and phone number. If you would like, you can create an account with Sign Up Genius, but that is optional. If you create an account, you will be able to go back and change your time, but you will still be able to sign up without creating an account!
