Inch by Inch, Row by Row

On Friday, we went outside to explore our school garden and get it ready for fall planting!

We met a few of our PTO Volunteers out in the garden to help do some fall planting. We planted daffodil bulbs that will grow into beautiful flowers in the spring!

We each put on a pair of gardening gloves and grabbed a shovel before planting our bulbs in the ground

One of our twins even got to plant a "twin" bulb!!

Afterwards, we got to explore around in and around our garden, looking for plants and insects and sharing what we already know about gardens with our friends

We looked at many of the fallen leaves and acorns that were on the ground around the garden and we were able to determine that the leaves we found were from maple and oak trees, and we learned that maple leaves turn red because of all the sugar in their leaves! We love watching the leaves change color outside, and we can't wait to see our daffodils brighten up our garden in the spring.

I Now Pronounce You Mrs. Mitchell!

This summer, Ms. Riley has not only been getting ready to teach a new grade level, but she's also been getting ready for a new name! On August 4th, Ms. Riley got married at Hartman's Herb Farm in Barre, MA and officially became Mrs. Mitchell! What was a rainy morning turned into a miraculously sunny afternoon, and we had a beautiful ceremony out in the garden followed by dinner and dancing by the barn. Here are a few pictures from our special day:

Ms. Riley's last class of 2R Giraffes gave some love advice, so we typed it up a few of their words of wisdom to share with our guests during dinner!
We also shared the amazing wedding planner they made! Mrs. Mitchell was so happy to have this special gift to share with their guests and to have her students become part of their special day--they even got a few shoutouts during the ceremony :)

Thank You Mrs. Dow for your amazing chalk illustrations for our welcome sign!

We were married on a farm, so there were lots of bunnies, goats, pigs, sheep, and chickens all around the property!

All of our siblings were in our wedding party!

Mrs. Mitchell made their cake topper herself and her cousin Liz made their delicious cake and cupcakes!

Mrs. Mitchell's own 4th grade teacher Mrs. Paul was there to celebrate!

Here's to our very own Happily Ever After!
