On Tuesday, we spent the morning traveling around our "Community"! Each of the second grade classrooms was transformed into a part of Stratham we know and love. After we turned our classroom into the Post Office, we traveled to the SPCA, The Police Station, and The Bank!
At the SPCA, we got to check out some awesome stuffy animals up for adoption and we got to fill out an adoption application! Mrs. Healey told us all about her dog Tucker she adopted, and we were really wishing we could have taken the animals home with us, but we know they went to good homes in the Owl Class!
When we went to the Police Station, we got "fingerprinted" to make our very own ID cards. We learned about all that the police do in our community to keep us safe, and we also learned Ms. Donlon's dad used to be a Police officer!
After snack, we got to make some deposits at Buckyville Bank with Ms. Bucklin! She told us all about how banks help us save money, and we even got a lollipop at the end of our visit :)
We're RICH!
Afterwards, we came back to the Giraffe Class to write and deliver some letters to some awesome SMS Staff from the Post Office. We learned that Ms. Riley's Grandpa was a mailman for over 30 years, and we were excited to become mail carriers ourselves!

Forever 2R Stamps! |
We learned all about all the things you can do at the post office as well as how to address a letter. Once we wrote our letters and added our stamp, we sorted out all the mail that was in our mailboxes and we went out to deliver each of the letters to their recipient.

Everyone really loved getting their sweet letters from the 2R Mail Carriers, and we had so much fun exploring our community and all it has to offer! We are so lucky to live in the amazing town of Stratham, and we are even luckier to share it with the amazing people who call it home :)
