We had so much fun during our last few days of school before our vacation! We were baking and decorating cookies, crafting, playing games, having dance parties, and just having a BLAST during our last school days of 2018:
On Tuesday Night many of the giraffes participated in our annual Kindergarten and Fourth Grade Holiday Concert
Both K and Grade 4 did a fantastic job!
On Wednesday, we all got to take turns rolling and cutting out our cookies for our party on Thursday! Mrs. Walsh in the Cafe baked them for us, and luckily no more cookies ran away :)
Later on Wednesday, we got to watch our reading buddies perform in 2D's Got Talent!
On Thursday, our families joined us for a cookie decorating party! We had lots of fun (and lots of sweets!)
We loved Sammy Claus!
On Friday, Mrs. Mitchell left us a winter solstice surprise!
We donned our PJs for our last day before break, and during the morning after our scavenger hunt, we could choose between free choice in the seal class or movies in the giraffe class! That afternoon, our whole class split up into cross-grade level teams to go to a crafting center, a game center, and an engineering center to celebrate our First Official Day of Winter! The giraffes got to travel around with different teachers to different classrooms while Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Quinn each ran game centers.
In Mrs. Mitchell game room (which was held in 3M) we got to build toilet paper snowmen and have a snowball relay!
After our centers, all of SMS went down to the gym and cafe for a sock hop dance party!
The kindergarten team was ready for our Ugly Sweater Parade with our matching sweater PJs!
While the K team definitely brought their sweater A-Game, they were no match for this Pugly Sweater by Mrs. Saxton!
Thank you all for donating so many wonderful gifts for the SMS Holiday Mission. The gifts have been delivered to our family, and their Christmas will be much more merry and bright thanks to your generosity.
Thank you also for your lovely gifts for both Mrs. Quinn and myself, you are entirely too generous! I am so appreciative of all that you do for our classroom, and I am so thankful to know and teach each and every one of your children. They never cease to amaze me, and they are the reason I come to work each and every day with a smile on my face and love in my heart.
We have had such a wonderful year together so far, and I cannot wait to see where the year ahead will take us. I hope you enjoy the holidays and/or vacation with your family and friends. We will see you in 2019!
Love,
Mrs. Mitchell
