The Great Gingerbread Escape!

A few weekends ago, when Mrs. Mitchell was baking up a batch of her Grandma's gingerbread cookies for her family, she got a bit impatient and decided to open the oven door a bit too early to check on them. To her surprise, they jumped right up off the pan and darted for the door!

(luckily, Mr. Mitchell was there to capture the escape on camera!)

She came to school the next day ready to tell the giraffes about the silliness of the day before, but then, they found a note taped to their whiteboard:

The Giraffes have had SO much fun looking for the gingerbread every day around our classroom! Here are a few of the places where we found them:

On Friday, we got yet another note from our gingerbread friends, who told us they were hiding all around the school! We even got to face time with one of the giraffes who was home sick from school to join us for the hunt:

After giving us all of our clues, the gingerbread left us one final note before saying goodbye:

Now that the gingerbread have left SMS, they might be spotted running by a city or town near YOU! If you've spotted Gingy, George, Geraldine, or Gina running around your community or in your travels, please send our class a letter or a postcard to let us know!
