Happy December!

December started out with a bang, as it took us a while to get started at all after Thanksgiving! This very snowy month started off with 2 snow days, and it has snowed even more since then!

During the month of December, we've been learning a lot about shapes, stretching our reading brains, writing true stories, showing gratitude, crafting, and exploring various STEM challenges with our buddies in 2P!

Santa Sleigh Challenge--Building

Thank You Cards for office staff, custodians, cafeteria workers, and bus drivers

Santa Sleigh Stem Challenge-Testing Day

Mrs. Mitchell did it again, she opened her oven door too early and a few of her gingerbread cookies escaped! They were hiding all around our classroom in the days leading up to our holiday break, we had so much fun looking for them every day!

Every day the gingerbread hid in different spots around the classroom, and every day we read a different gingerbread story after we found them all.

The gingerbread shared a special secret with us just before we left for break-- Mrs. Mitchell is having a baby in June!!We of celebrated the special news by reading The Gingerbread Baby, of course :)

On the Friday before break, the gingerbread left us a special surprise scavenger hunt to celebrate us filling up our spot jar with kind acts!

At the end of the scavenger hunt, we found a HUGE box of new legos and tons of new play-doh for our classroom! (as well as a reminder to only eat sugar cookies :)

Winter Wonderland fun in P.E!

We also had a lot of fun baking and decorating cookies at our Gingerbread Party with our friends and family! Thank you to Mrs. A and Ms. Paine for helping us roll out our cookies and to Mrs. Walsh and the cafeteria staff for baking them for us! Luckily, none of them ran away

Happy Holidays to all our Giraffe Families. We have had so much fun with the giraffes over the last few months and we can't wait to see what kinds of adventures the new year will bring!
